General questions are answered within a few days. Reports of
objectionable content or unsafe behaviour are reviewed within 24 hours.
If you feel unsafe, contact local authorities first, then tell us.
Hangshots is invite-only while it's small. Open the app and submit your email to request access. Once it's approved you can create an account with that same address.
Check your spam folder first — automated mail often lands there. If it isn't there, open the app and tap Resend email on the "Check your email" screen. Confirmation links expire, so use the most recent one.
Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen. You can enter either your username or your email. The link opens the app directly to a set-new-password screen.
You can request a password reset with your email address instead. If you still can't get in, email us from the address you signed up with.
Sign-in locks temporarily after repeated failures to protect your account. Wait 15 minutes and try again, or reset your password.
Set your weekly availability and how often you'd like to be matched — weekly, biweekly, or monthly. A job runs daily, finds windows where enough members are free for a two-hour session, and forms small groups with a mix of skill levels. Everyone is scheduled at least 48 hours ahead, at a location nobody in the group has shot at in the past two months.
Remove your availability windows, or change your match frequency in your profile. You can also leave any individual hangout you've been placed in.
Hangouts have a capacity limit, and fill up. If a hangout is full, it can't take more attendees.
Tap the ••• on any photo or profile and choose Report. Reported content is hidden immediately, before anyone reviews it, and every report is reviewed within 24 hours.
Blocking hides that person from you, and the two of you won't be placed in a hangout together again. If they had already joined a hangout you're in, neither of you is removed — but you can leave it, and it won't happen again.
Blocking is private. The person you block is never told.
Report the photo, which hides it right away, and email us so we can remove it permanently.
It already is. Gear is private by default, and only visible to others if you turn on "Show my gear publicly" — worth thinking about, since a public equipment list next to a public RSVP tells people where expensive kit will be and when.
Go to Profile → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent — it removes your account, profile, photos, RSVPs, availability, and gear. It can't be undone, and there's no recovery period.
Yes, in the profile editor, as long as the new one isn't taken. It's also what you sign in with, so remember the change.
